About us

Meet the founders

Ryan and Josh are both qualified electricians. They met working in solar, where they worked closely together and helped each other refine their craft. Together they founded Eclipse Energy Co.

Our mission

To lift the industry standard and give homeowners their own self-sustaining power plant for years to come, with energy independence day and night.

JoshCo-Founder · Operations Manager · Qualified Electrician

Originally from New Zealand, Josh built his career on high-end architectural homes and internal fit-outs, alongside solar and battery systems. That work shaped the precision and attention to detail he brings to every Eclipse install. Josh has now added over 1 megawatt of clean energy to Queensland's grid, helping hundreds of homeowners across South East Queensland gain energy independence.

RyanCo-Founder · Business Development Manager · Qualified Electrician

Ryan brings a broad electrical background to Eclipse. He started out in industrial controls before moving into commercial and residential work, delivering shop fit-outs for well-known brands including Mecca, Timezone and McDonald's. He then turned to solar, where he and Josh first met. Ryan has since added over 1 megawatt of clean energy to Queensland's grid, and his goal is to double that with Eclipse over the next 12 months.

Rebates in Queensland

What you can claim in 2026

Queensland homes can get two federal rebates: one for solar panels and one for home batteries. We take both off your quote as an upfront discount and handle the paperwork.

Solar panels

Federal solar rebate (STCs)

about $1,710 on a 6.6 kW system

Every new solar system earns Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). The number depends on system size and location, and South East Queensland is in Zone 3. Bigger systems earn more.

Home batteries

Cheaper Home Batteries Program

about $2,580 on a 10 kWh battery

The federal battery rebate is paid per kWh of usable capacity, in tiers:

Usable capacityApprox. per kWh
First 14 kWh$258
14 to 28 kWh$155
28 to 50 kWh$39

You need solar (new or existing) and an approved battery. It must be installed by an SAA-accredited installer and sold by a New Energy Tech Approved Seller. We are both.

Both rebates drop on 1 January 2027. The solar rebate falls by about a fifth, and the battery rebate by about 16%. They keep stepping down until 2030.
